Five of the best books of 2020

Vanity Fair made its list of the 15 best books of 2020, which includes the winner of the National Book Award. It is made based on the selection of its editors. If you haven't read them yet and you want to take a break from virtual work meetings, now it's a good time to even schedule your readings for the whole year or make a gift to a loved one. Here is a selection of five titles, with very diverse themes so that you start the year with interesting proposals:

 1.- CLAP WHEN YOU LAND, Elizabeth Acevedo.

Clap When You Land tells the story of two sisters, who grew up unaware of each other's existence. The story is inspired by a flight accident in November 2001.

2.- THE VANISHING HALF, Brit Bennett.

It is about a multigenerational family saga set in the second half of the 20th century. It is a non-linear story with very deep descriptions of its characters.

3.- FELIX EVER AFTER, Kacen Callender.

Provides a very moving look at the reality of a teenager, Felix Love, a 17-year-old Afro-descendant trans boy who seeks to survive his last year of high school and get a place at Brown University, his pass to a life different from the family environment chaotic.

4.- FIND LAYLA, Meg Elison.

The author is a winner of the Philip K. Dick Award. It tells us about a world of dystopian science fiction, where a dystopian reality transits towards the hostile home environment of the protagonist.

5.- MEXICAN GOTHIC, Silvia Moreno-Garcia.

The story leads us to Noemi Taboada's attempt to rescue his cousin Catalina, trapped in a bad marriage and a creepy mansion.
