How to Choose the Perfect Book
If you’ve ever walked into a bookstore in your life, then you’ve probably had the same experience that all the rest of us have: the overwhelming feeling of knowing you have to choose one book from the hundreds or thousands of books lining the shelves. In our Romantic Zone bookstore, we have over 3,000 books for you to choose from!
One of the easiest ways to make sure you leave with your next book without taking hours to find it is to arrive at the store already knowing what you are looking for. Using websites like Goodreads or Whichbook is a great way to figure out which direction you should take while looking for your next book. They give you the ability to highlight books you’ve already read, and whether you enjoyed them or not. Once your profile is complete, they give very insightful suggestions on which books they think might be the next great choice for you.
If using an online program to choose a book isn’t for you, then we recommend you follow these steps that will help lead you to your next read:
- Identify the genre you’re looking for.
- Check to see if any authors you know you like have written any books of that genre.
- Once you’ve found a potential, read the first two pages and synopsis - generally a book that you’re really going to enjoy will hook you almost right away.
- Don’t forget to ask the bookstore owner for recommendations! They have a magic itinerary of almost anything in their shop and are the perfect person to point you in the right direction.
